Recording Songs In India Has Apparently Turned Kylie Into A Forty-Seven Year Old Blue Collar Worker From New Jersey

This might sound a bit stupid to the rest of you, but when I read the following quote from Our Kylie™ about how much she loved working in India, I couldn’t help but find her choice of words somewhat jarring, as though they were the kind of thing I could expect a big tough guy to mumble during an emotional moment, but not the thing I’d pick a tiny pop pixie from Australia to mutter.

Kylie Minogue was so thrilled to work in Bollywood she may do it again. The pop princess has been in India recording a song for big-budget blockbuster Blue with double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman.

“I got a lot of love here,” Minogue said in India.

Is it just me? It’s just me, isn’t it? But as soon as I read “I got a lot of love here”, my internal Kylie voice suddenly switched from the fashionable not-quite-British-not-quite-Australian accent we’ve come to know and love, to a deep masculine baritone.

Maybe I need a nap?
