Natalie Imbruglia Has Found Time To Record A New Album!

Somehow in between the naughty lap-bouncing in nightclubs, the juggling of David Walliams and Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am’s hearts, being totally cool with former husband Daniel Johns’ new romance with a young model, partying hard with BFF Kylie Minogue, and most recently eyeing off the delicious youthful royal piece of meat that is the House of Windsor’s very own Ginger Romeo, Twisties commercial star turned pop singer Natalie Imbruglia has somehow squeezed the recording of a new record into her busy schedule!

Naturally, some of her talented menfolk of yesteryear feature on the album…

Aussie songstress Natalie Imbruglia has enlisted some of the biggest names in music, including her ex-husband Daniel Johns and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, for her new album.

Imbruglia is set to release her fourth studio album, Come To Life, later this year featuring a diverse collection of pop, electro and dance influenced songs. Ben Hillier, who has worked with Blur, Doves and Depeche Mode, has produced the album, with Johns and Martin among the songwriting credits.

“I’ve got some Chris Martin songs that have come in at the last minute (which are) really cool,” Imbruglia says. “So that’s been really exciting. I’m a very lucky girl.”

Very lucky indeed! Whatever you think of Coldplay (and personally, I really liked the new album even though I know it is very uncool to say so as taking shots at Coldplay is a popular game these days, and oh! Did you download the single of that new indie band no one’s really heard of from Boston? Probably not, but it’s been remixed by one of the members of CSS and an Icelandic goat, now that’s hip music! Etc), that clever clogs Chris Martin can belt out a fantastic pop song for lady singers when he chooses to. Jamelia’s See It In a Boy’s Eyes immediately springs to mind…

Oooh, and look who else is contributing musically?

Imbruglia says her ex-husband has had a lot of creative input on the record. “He did some beautiful work on there actually. In fact one of the parts he wrote in one of the songs is my favourite two notes on the whole album. It sounds really weird but they run through the whole song, and it makes the whole song for me. (He’s a) very clever boy.”

Natalie goes on to add that all that Kathy Lette fuelled talk about doing a bushfire benefit with Kylie was total rubbish. Damn it, Lette – can we trust you at all? It would seem we cannot!
