A Quick Note About Wes Carr’s New Record
So guess what Your Editor and Wes Carr did yesterday afternoon?
a) Played Connect-4 in a park, shared many deep stories about childhood?
b) Prank called Mark Spano?
c) Sat in the Sony Music boardroom and listened to his new album together?
Well, after a quick (but informative) game of Connect-4 and then a perfectly executed “Hi, I’m a big music executive from Universal Music, and I’d like to offer you a billion dollar record contract!” phone conversation with Spano, we listened to the new Wes Carr record.
I made loads of notes and I will put them online next week, but here’s the best way to summarise it…
WES CARR IS BRINGING MASSIVE WELL PRODUCED OZ ROCK OF THE LATE EIGHTIES/EARLY NINETIES BACK TO THE AIRWAVES! FUCK YEAH!
I know that sounds frightening, but it isn’t. More next week about this, Wes Carr fans.

Okay, Wes seems like a great guy and obviously has a lot of talent, but he isn’t gonna be another Guy Sebastian/Young Divas cover version cop-out is he? Note to Guy; as much as we all love those old soul hits, I don’t see the point in rerecording them as they can’t get any better dude and besides that, Human Nature already has that market cornered. Why can’t people write original songs. Anyway, good luck Wes, I hope you really impress. Ooh, that rhymes. Shonda Rhimes. HAha.
