Scarlett Johansson Deflates

9:33PM Ryan Tate | Scarlett Johansson complained about the “rigid diet” she’s on when she showed up “very slim” to a London film party Tuesday, says Page Six’s source. The starlet does seem streamlined. More »

Jeremy Piven Says Barack Obama Has His Back

6:18PM Ryan Tate | Producers still want vengeance against Jeremy Piven for dropping out of Speed the Plow due to “mercury poisoning.” They’ve been thwarted once, and the actor now claims history and Hope are on his side. More »

Wiggly Larvae

4:04PM Jess McGuire | I have vague recollections of really liking a song by Australian band The Cockroaches when I was a cherub, but for the life of me I can’t remember what the song was called. So I’ve been exploring YouTube hoping to stumble across it, and found the following clips you might find interesting. More »

It Seems The British Aren’t Too Keen On Drag Queen Musicals

3:02PM Jess McGuire | The stage musical Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert was a huge hit here in Australia. I didn’t get to see it so I can’t tell you whether or not it was made of 100% entertainment awesomeness or just 100% cheap gags about dudes in dresses. When I was in New Zealand last year, I got chatting to Mal (owner of Wellington’s only gay bar S&M’s on Cuba Street) and he assured me that as a “theatre queen”, he could thoroughly recommend the New Zealand version of the production. The Drones Get Reviewed By Pitchfork

10:22AM Jess McGuire | Do you know what Pitchfork is? It is a magical website where music is reviewed within a decimal point of its life. If the review is good, bands try to mention this fact on the cover of their latest release by helpfully placing a sticker on the cover of the CD which quotes the review. If the review is bad, bands try to hide their hurt. Something Jet must have done when Pitchfork’s review of Jet’s second album was simply a YouTube video of a monkey pissing in its own mouth. More »

Dieter Brummer’s Post-Underbelly Career Going Great Guns

8:49AM Jess McGuire | When I was a whippersnapper gaily spending my precious and limited funds on copies of Dolly Magazine, Dieter Brummer was king of the world. He won Dolly’s Most Dateable Guy competition like, three times. And whenever I think of him, I immediately remember the celebratory photoshoot he did with the magazine where he wore leather pants, something that struck me as not quite right even as a naive youth. Sean Penn’s Addition To Stooges Movie Doesn’t Make It Oscar Bait

6:33AM Richard | Sean Penn will play Larry, alongside Jim Carrey as Curly and Benicio del Toro in the Farrelly brothers’ Three Stooges movie. While some had assumed/hoped this would be a classy biopic, it’s not. Just slapstick. More »
