This is the first time I’ve stumbled across some of Jessica Mauboy’s publicity photos (“Finger on the pulse as ever, McGuire” – You) and my god! She looks fantastic.
I think that’s pretty much all I have to say on the matter. What’s Damien Leith up to at the moment? Still penning books and being a lovable Irish chap?

and to answer your query, Damien Leith is about to leave for LA to record his new originals album, due for June/July release…and still being a loveable Irish chap. :)
Jessica is looking really great. It is good that she is having solo success now. She was a worthy runner up to Damien Leith.
Since you asked I will tell you that Damien has finished his second book, it is at the publishers now. He has written all the songs for his new album and will be heading overseas shortly to record it.
He had a very successful ‘Catch the Wind’ tour last year, starting in May and finishing at Christmas time. He did around 70 shows.
Well, Damien Leith played to 8000 people in a pre-valentines concert in Perth last week! It was fantastic, I was there! OK, the tickets were free, but they were all gone in 2 hours – their fastest ’selling’ event ever, and plenty of Damien admirers missed out! So he’s still got heaps of fans out there patiently waiting for his next release!
I saw Damien Leith at Joondalup on 12th he performed in front of 8000 people, he was brilliant his voice live is unbeleivable.

incredible person who not only has a spine tingling voice
but one of the loveliest people you will meet. His fans will
remain true to him as he does not pretend he is anyone but
himself. This is the meaning of BEAUTY. not looks.
Damien who???? Oh yeah thats right. He is the one who went 4xP with his first album filled with Idol performances, and only managed Gold with his third. How quickly they are forgotten. But I wouldn’t trump Jess up too much. Her Idol journey album only went Gold, and this one is also only Gold, and descending down the charts without ever having cracked the Top 10. Seems her main claim to fame is a couple of singles. She will surely follow the others. But her fall will be gentler because she never climbed as high in the first place. Except in exaggerated publicity. Now that truly soared.
Or, putting it another way, Fred, Damien’s three albums have been #1, #1 and #2 respectively. Not bad results, really! I fully expect the next originals to do well also. There’s still a helluva lot of interest out there, as his recent WA gig and the success of his tours show.
