What was Cate Blanchett’s husband Andrew Upton doing loitering in the obstetrics ward at a private hospital on Wednesday?

This sounds decidedly sinister, but that may just be the use of the word “loitering” which traditionally belongs in articles about men who show their doodles in public, or drunkards. Or if it’s your lucky day, both!

Could the Academy award-winning actress, who has admitted she might yet add to her brood, be expecting the couple’s fourth child?

Upton was spotted waiting in the obstetrics wing of Prince of Wales Private hospital. Another hospital event was not the cause for Upton’s visit.

Apparently one of the Blanchett-Upton lads had their tonsils removed recently, but for some reason the Daily Telegraph is very confident that’s not why Andrew was in the obstetrics wing. Clearly it’s because his missus is knocked up. Although surely you’d expect to see Cate there, unless there’s some kind of Junior situation going on?

DEFAMER AUSTRALIA FACT! Before she was hugely famous, I saw Cate perform in The Seagull at the Belvoir Street Theatre. At least, I think it was Belvoir Street. I can’t really remember. But she was very good. The end.
