Australian Grammy Awards FAIL
Goddammit, Musical Expat Community! If we can’t rely on you to steal America’s awards of note from under their very noses and help inspire a nation still longing for international approval, what in sam hell is the point of following your careers and constantly prefacing your name with an exceedingly affectionate ‘Our’ in every news article churned out about you?
Kylie Minogue, AC/DC, Keith Urban and Sam Sparro have been snubbed at the 51st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The Australian contingent failed to win awards at music’s version of the Oscars.
By the way, thanks for clearing up what the Grammys are, The ABC.
The Grammy drought continued for veteran rockers AC/DC – who have sold 200 million albums worldwide but have never won a Grammy, despite five nominations. AC/DC were nominated this year in the best rock performance by a duo or group category for the song Rock N Roll Train, but the Grammy went to Kings of Leon for Sex On Fire.
Best Rock Performance going to Kings Of Leon for Sex On Fire? Clearly someone’s made a mistake here and they meant to write Mark Spano.
And Our Keith didn’t do much better than AC/DC.
Urban – a two-time Grammy winner – was nominated this year for best country collaboration for his duet with Trisha Yearwood, but Robert Plant and Alison Krauss won for Killing The Blues.
The Robert Plant/Alison Krauss record is pretty awesome from what I’ve heard, so I can accept that failure. BUT I WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR EXCUSES KYLIE. YOU SHOULD HAVE THOROUGHLY FLOGGED THOSE FROG BASTARDS DAFT PUNK IN THE BEST ELECTRONIC/DANCE CATEGORY. How can we Australians ever hold our heads up in France again? Olivier must be laughing in a horribly snooty French way into his glass of celebratory champagne as we speak.

Comments
those people were snubbed because they suck (as musicians).
kylie minogue sucks.
keith urban sucks.
ac/dc is old and sucks.
Geez talk about having a whinge. The opening paragraph with the whole “what in sam hell is the point of following your careers….” is pathetic. They didn’t win a Grammy… get over it!! So you’re going to stop following the bands because they didn’t win?
Yes, it would be great to see an Aussie come home with a Grammy but its no use in having a cry about it. They tried their best, the put out the best albums they could… its not their fault if they weren’t the best in their category. At least they got nominated!!!
