Flotsam & Jetsam
12:41PM Jess McGuire | Heard the latest from Norman Cook, formerly known as Fatboy Slim and now recording under the moniker The BPA (aka British Port Authority)?
Somehow the initial release in 2008 slipped me by (I say “somehow” but the truth is it was probably because I was obsessively listening to Roxette or Icehouse at the time) but the album ‘I Think We’re Going To Need A Bigger Boat’ only came out in January this year so while I’m a bit behind, it could be far worse.
Reader Jason suggested the video for the song “Toe Jam” as a clip of the day, and I can’t see why not. The tune features the vocals of David Byrne and Dizzy Rascal, for god’s sake! And the clip is chockers with nudity! What could go wrong?

If you can’t see them and give them a hug, do you phone? Do you email? Do you text? Do you get in touch via Facebook? It’s weird. I suppose the main thing is that you show your support, but I couldn’t help but feel like Mel B texting Rihanna seemed kinda impersonal. But hey! I can’t suggest a decent alternative! At least Mel B’s heart is in the right place..

10:51AM Jess McGuire | You could not pay me to be Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr right now*. Do they get any privacy at all when they’re in Australia? Every day there seems to be a new article in the papers about Orlando ogling his girlfriend as she struts down the catwalk, or they’ve been spotted eating together (!!!!) at a restaurant. It’s not as though they’re doing anything particularly interesting while they’re here – perhaps if there were paparazzi shots of Orlando spanking Miranda on the Sydney Road tram, I might muster up some interest…
Do people actually wish to follow every single moment of the couple’s trip to Miranda’s homeland? Am I contributing to the problem by pointing out how stupid the constant coverage is? Is Miranda making things worse by getting photographed outside Pellegrini’s for the Herald Sun? It’s so hard to tell.
