Ladyhawke Is Up For An NME Award!

Huzzah! Defamer Australia’s favourite Lady-popstar*, New Zealand’s Pip Brown, has been nominated for an NME Award!

Rising Kiwi musician Pip Brown, aka Ladyhawke, is up against international superstars Jay-Z and Pete Doherty at next month’s NME Awards.

The Kiwi singer, who released her debut album to much critical acclaim last year, has been nominated in the Best Solo Artist category at the NME Awards.

She is up against American rapper Jay-Z, Laura Marling, Lightspeed Champion and Pete Doherty in the category.

We’ll have to wait until February 28th to see how she goes, but it’s great news nevertheless.

ALSO! Ladyhawke’s guest programming of RRR will go to air next Wednesday at the sexy time of midnight. RRR 102.7FM if you live in Melbourne, stream from rrr.org.au.

Surprised the Lady hasn’t done even better in the Yuke – apart from the coverage and critical appreciation in some quarters – but people can be slow to appreciate a newcomer. This award nom. is well-deserved recognition. May the lady continue to fly!(!)
