5:04PM Jess McGuire | Question: has Nicolas Cage ever had good hair? I’m struggling to think of a time I’ve ever seen his noggin and thought “That’s some fantastic follicles you’ve got there, Cage.” I suspect he looked pretty good in Wild At Heart but it’s been a while since I’ve watched that movie so I can’t be certain. OMG Girl Snds 14K Txts 2 BFFs, Oldz Totez Mad @ Her LOL!!1!

2:29PM Jess McGuire | I thought I was keen on texting chums idiotic updates about my life, but my keypad happy thumbing ways are nothing compared to a thirteen year old school girl who sent over 14,000 text messages to her mates in just one month. Astounding. A 13-year old American girl sent 484 text messages every day during the month of December. That was a total of 14,528 texts for the entire month and an average of one message every two minutes while awake. Damn, she texts like I make Facebook status updates! Reida Hardesty’s father was shocked when he received the phone bill at the end of the month. “First, I laughed. I thought, ‘That’s insane, that’s impossible’,”the 45-year-old told The New York Post. 12:49PM Jess McGuire | Big Day Out founder Ken West has spoken to New Zealand’s Sunday Star Times about some of his favourite rock and roll memories from the festival’s history, and along with some amusing stories about Kim Thayil of Soundgarden trashing hotel rooms and Ian Astbury of The Cult driving around the Gold Coast looking to replace expensive plastic chairs he’d thrown off a hotel balcony the night before, there’s an absolutely brilliant tale of Lars Ulrich and the backstage party that never was. “… the funniest [story] I remember was with Metallica. When we signed them for the Big Day Out, they were in nervous breakdown territory, really, as you can see in the doco they made at that time (Some Kind Of Monster).” More »

Sass & Bide Pull Out Of New York Fashion Week

11:30AM Jess McGuire | The Daily Telegraph is reporting today that designers Sass & Bide have pulled out of next month’s New York Fashion Week because Sarah-Jane Clarke just gave birth. Their families come first for the girls at sass & bide with the arrival of baby No.3 for Sarah-Jane Clarke causing the girls to withdraw from the New York Fashion Week next month. Clarke gave birth to her and husband Daniel Baffsky’s third boy on New Year’s Eve, with her yesterday revealing the name of their latest bundle of joy – Ziggy. I can’t help but suspect there must be another reason for the label’s withdrawal. I mean, I’m no expert, but my general understanding is that unless you’re one of those unfortunate teenagers I grew up reading about in Dolly Magazine who has no idea they are pregnant and is absolutely gobsmacked when they pop out a baby in the toilets of a nightclub during their 18th birthday party, you have a fair bit of warning that a new born is going to be part of your life soon. Several months, in fact.
