This Is The Video Clip For The New Kaz James Single Feat. Macy Gray
6:06PM Jess McGuire | Wahey, The Leather Pants Prince has a new video clip out for the song “Can’t Hold Back” which features a shouty Macy Gray. Are you excited? Here it is.
I didn’t listen to the song too closely because I was distracted by idea that Kaz James is Dan Kelly’s long lost brother who was raised by Sydney fashionistas, but it is pretty good I suppose. My pet hate is when artists do a shout out to their past, so the “bodyrocking” reference got my back up, but whatever. I think the kids will like it!
I’m not going to lie to you. I am putting this online for you not only for your viewing pleasure, pop fans, but also because I am quite obviously sucking up to Sony-BMG in the vain hope they release The Bass from her prison cell long enough to write a personal and loving message on my Facebook wall. I WILL NOT LET THIS MATTER GO.

More » A Very Important Nicolas Cage Related Query
5:04PM Jess McGuire | Question: has Nicolas Cage ever had good hair?
I’m struggling to think of a time I’ve ever seen his noggin and thought “That’s some fantastic follicles you’ve got there, Cage.” I suspect he looked pretty good in Wild At Heart but it’s been a while since I’ve watched that movie so I can’t be certain.
Also: the above photo is from the fantastic website The Catalyst, which features famous people and cats. So simple, but so awesome. How beautiful is Bewitched star Elizabeth Montgomery?! She’s wicked hot. Hell, cats even make David Crosby look more doable! More » Advertisement
New Aussie Action Reality Game Asks World’s Most Obvious Question
“Would you like to win $25,000?” So begins Foxtel’s new reality adventure series The Phone. Based on the Dutch program of the same name, each episode begins with two ringing phones hidden at opposite ends of an Aussie city, where the person who answers the phone, and the $25,000 question, is thrown into an intense mobile-lead game of cat and mouse. The oh-so-spunky Justin Melvey stars as the fictional “millionaire”, who toys with the unsuspecting duo during their dash for the cash, giving them clues and setting them high adrenaline tasks, including a gaming gun battle. Think The Bourne Supremacy meets Grand Theft Auto, without the murder. Or the corruption. Or the… ok, just think The Bourne Supremacy. More »

4:13PM Jess McGuire | As promised earlier today, here’s a little taste of the brilliantly wrong comedy Nighty Night.
In the following clip, Julia Davis’ character Jill is expressing her sadness at husband Terry’s cancer diagnosis through interpretive dance.

2:29PM Jess McGuire | I thought I was keen on texting chums idiotic updates about my life, but my keypad happy thumbing ways are nothing compared to a thirteen year old school girl who sent over 14,000 text messages to her mates in just one month. Astounding.
A 13-year old American girl sent 484 text messages every day during the month of December. That was a total of 14,528 texts for the entire month and an average of one message every two minutes while awake.
Damn, she texts like I make Facebook status updates!
Reida Hardesty’s father was shocked when he received the phone bill at the end of the month. “First, I laughed. I thought, ‘That’s insane, that’s impossible’,”the 45-year-old told The New York Post.
Clearly Mr Hardesty underestimates a teenage girls ability to talk about nothing at length. More »
YouTube Clip Of The Day
1:27PM Jess McGuire | After yesterday’s Jam clip, reader url404 suggested I’d very much enjoy the following bit from comedy show Big Train. You know me too well, sir/madam! Not only does it feature Simon Pegg, but it also stars the brilliant Julia Davis of Nighty Night fame (stick around, I’ll put some Nighty Night related clips up soon, swears). And, of course, The Artist Formerly Known As Prince…
Amazing. Thank you, url404! More » Ken West Reveals Lars Ulrich’s Party Blues
12:49PM Jess McGuire | Big Day Out founder Ken West has spoken to New Zealand’s Sunday Star Times about some of his favourite rock and roll memories from the festival’s history, and along with some amusing stories about Kim Thayil of Soundgarden trashing hotel rooms and Ian Astbury of The Cult driving around the Gold Coast looking to replace expensive plastic chairs he’d thrown off a hotel balcony the night before, there’s an absolutely brilliant tale of Lars Ulrich and the backstage party that never was.
“… the funniest [story] I remember was with Metallica. When we signed them for the Big Day Out, they were in nervous breakdown territory, really, as you can see in the doco they made at that time (Some Kind Of Monster).”
More » Sass & Bide Pull Out Of New York Fashion Week
11:30AM Jess McGuire | The Daily Telegraph is reporting today that designers Sass & Bide have pulled out of next month’s New York Fashion Week because Sarah-Jane Clarke just gave birth.
Their families come first for the girls at sass & bide with the arrival of baby No.3 for Sarah-Jane Clarke causing the girls to withdraw from the New York Fashion Week next month. Clarke gave birth to her and husband Daniel Baffsky’s third boy on New Year’s Eve, with her yesterday revealing the name of their latest bundle of joy – Ziggy.
I can’t help but suspect there must be another reason for the label’s withdrawal. I mean, I’m no expert, but my general understanding is that unless you’re one of those unfortunate teenagers I grew up reading about in Dolly Magazine who has no idea they are pregnant and is absolutely gobsmacked when they pop out a baby in the toilets of a nightclub during their 18th birthday party, you have a fair bit of warning that a new born is going to be part of your life soon. Several months, in fact. Why would Sass & Bide wait until a few weeks before New York Fashion Week to pull out when they obviously would have known about Ziggy’s impending arrival for months beforehand?
Enquiring minds, etc!

Missy Higgins Says Thank You To Barack Obama!
10:44AM Jess McGuire | Wow, Jillian Michaels and Missy Higgins together at last? It’s true! Along with the likes of Pierce Brosnan, Wilmer Valderrama, and a whole lot of people I cannot recognise for the life of me but I am led to believe they are celebrities of some kind, the pair star in a new YouTube video thanking the President-Elect and urging him to accomplish important environmental goals whilst in office.
I am a bit confused by Missy Higgins’ presence, but supportive nonetheless.
