The Courier-Mail’s Website Dominates Brisbanetimes.com.au
When it comes to Queensland-based news websites, there appears to be only one major player. The website for the Courier-Mail has seen its hits go through the roof, leaving its rival – Fairfax’s brisbanetimes.com.au – for dust.

The Courier-Mail’s website couriermail.com.au has soared to record traffic levels, confirming its position as the most popular news website in Queensland and one of the fastest growing in Australia, the Brisbane daily noted this week.
According to official figures for November, supplied by Nielsen//NetRatings, the website achieved the milestone of one million domestic users for the first time, putting it more than 390,000 ahead of rival Fairfax’s brisbanetimes.com.au
Naturally, the Courier-Mail has taken a moment to give thanks to its readers/brag about its achievements.

Queensland Newspapers’ managing editor of digiital media, Michael Prain, said more people were turning to couriermail.com.au because the website covered breaking news better than anyone else in Queensland.
“We are the website of choice for those who want to stay in touch with what is happening in this state and beyond – 24/7,” he said.
Mr Prain goes on to ramble for a while about the Courier-Mail’s awesomeness. No word yet as to whether the brisbanetimes.com.au is offline, listening to Simple Plan, and cutting itself.

The Courier Mail is tabloid crap, and while we shouldn’t forget it’s been around for a heck of a lot longer than BT, they do have a *lot* more Queensland/Brisbane stories than BT, which is effectively a mirror of the SMH with a couple of token Brisbane stories thrown in.
Maybe brisbanetimes.com.au would get more hits if more people knew the correct URL. Your headline says BRISBANESTIMES with a stray S in the middle.
