Tina Sparkle Has Lost Her Executive Producer!

Tough times over at Mix 106.5, it would seem. Sonia Kruger and Todd McKenney have lost their breakfast show’s executive producer after he “clashed” with Australian Radio Network management and left on Friday.

Call them the Teflon twosome of Sydney radio – after a year of personal publicity disasters Sonia Kruger and Todd McKenney have survived a recent ratings slide at Mix – while their executive producer has been axed.

Brenden Wood left the embattled breakfast show last Friday, reportedly after clashing with Australian Radio Network bosses over a lack of marketing support for the pair.

The Daily Telegraph points out that some of the breakfast team’s woes during this year cannot exactly be blamed on Brenden Wood.

After supporting his stars through McKenney’s DUI and drug charges and Kruger’s commentary controversy at the Beijing Games and her tasteless racial remarks on DWTS, Wood has taken the fall for the show’s poor performances.

With the Channel 7 stars contracted to ARN for another year, network sources claim Wood was “scapegoated” and dismissed a week before the program is scheduled to come off air for the year.

I’ve never met Brenden but he emailed me a few times about Defamer Australia’s undying love of Sonia Kruger, and he seemed to be nice enough. Here’s hoping he gets a decent job somewhere else.

Sonia, now that Brenden has gone you are just going to have to make contact personally.
