Sami Lukis Will Be Presenting Breakfast Radio In Sydney Next Year
The death of Triple M breakfast show The Shebang means that the folks in power over at Austereo have had to put their heads together and come up with an ideal on air team to win over listeners in Sydney.

Well, Sydneysiders – this hasn’t been confirmed by Austereo, but how would you feel about Sami Lukis teaming up with Ugly Phil O’Neill? Is that combination tickling your earlobes in a pleasurable way?
Channel 9 weathergal Sami Lukis is leaving Brisbane for a new gig on Sydney’s Triple M’s breakfast show, alongside comedian Ugly Phil O’Neil.
It’s understood the pair, who will replace the axed Shebang program, are being combined in an attempt to claw back some ratings points for Triple M in Sydney, with the network currently running last amongst the commercial networks.
But it seems the news may have leaked too early for Austereo which refused to confirm Lukis’s move south, with a spokesperson saying an announcement regarding the position will be made within a fortnight.
I’ve never heard Sami Lukis on the radio, so I’ll assume for the moment that she’s tolerable. As for Ugly Phil O’Neill, I can’t recall ever enjoying him on air back when I was a youth, but I am excited about the fact he’ll be taking on his ex-wife Jackie O in a highly competitive time slot. I want bitterness! Catty comments! Personal revelations! I don’t care if you’re both owned by Austereo – start dredging up your private issues for public consumption, please.
