Nicole Kidman Hopes Baby Sunday Has A Southern Accent

Nicole Kidman, where are your loyalties? As you and husband Keith Urban were responsible for producing the nearest thing to Australia’s very own Chosen One (sorry, Mia Hewitt!) this country’s got, I would have hoped you’d be trying to ensure that little Sunday Rose grew up with as much Down Under-influence as possible, regardless of whether you’re raising her in Nashville or Sydney.

But what’s this? You’re hoping she develops a southern accent?

Kidman announced in the US she hopes four-month-old Sunday Rose speaks with the twang of a southern US belle befitting the place of her birth, Nashville, Tennessee.

Oh come on, Nic! We all like Steel Magnolias, but there’s no need to go crazy here!“I’m glad that (Sunday) is able to say she’s born and bred in Nashville and Tennessee,” Kidman said.

“That is really lovely. I think it’s very appropriate, considering her daddy. His whole life was headed here – from a little boy, he dreamed of coming here. For him to be able to say his baby girl was born here, I think is very special.”

Hmmmm. Well, if anything, I suppose it’s nice that at least one member of the family has a legitimate excuse for their southern twang – eh, Keith? Eh? EH?
