Though both Barack Obama and John McCain were rumoured to be planning appearances on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, only McCain showed up in the end, and the two sketches he appeared in repped a decidedly mixed bag.

i actually have to give the old dude some props. down in the polls, in front of a generally hostile audience, not exactly born standing up; he did well. he’s running for president, not oscar host.
i also think it’s nice that he can take the piss out of himself. he’s gotten a bit snarly as this election has dragged on and that’s good for no one.
while i don’t want him as my president, i hope he sticks around the senate. perhaps this sort of thing will help him in the long run? i’m optimistic it’s a sign he’s going to be gracious in defeat.
according to the bloke who pulled him out the lake when he was shot down, he was never tortured, so if true, hes a treasonous liar. a cowardly murderous nasty old fart who doesnt deserve pissing on if he was on fire in the gutter.
