Jodhi Meares’ Brother Battles Pimps And Hos On Sydney Streets

Every once in a while a story comes along in the world of Australian showbiz which tickles me to absolute bits because it a) involves a vaguely famous person or – even better – someone remotely connected to a vaguely famous person, and b) it contains details so ridiculous, you couldn’t make it up if you tried.

Today is a great day then, folks, because Jodhi Meares’ brother was convicted of assaulting a policeman he believed was a pimp.

Before being found guilty of assaulting a policeman yesterday, the brother of Jodhi Meares said; he thought the two undercover officers in the incident were “a pimp and his prostitute”.

In evidence which bordered on the farcical, lawyers and the judge quizzed Meares’s sibling Jason over a slice of pizza he was eating when he clashed with Detective Sergeant Michael Keegan outside strip club Bada Bing in Kings Cross, Sydney.

&middot Jodhi Meares’ brother!
&middot Police confused for pimp and whore!
&middot Pizza eating! Apparently the fact Jason was eating this slice of Italian delight shows he was “vulnerable”!
&middot There is actually a strip club called Bada Bing, which is just about the lamest thing ever, and yet also awesome and I want to go there!
&middot With Jason Meares!

Idiot news story of the day, as far as I’m concerned.

Sadly, Jason’s pizza’n'pimp defence didn’t work out for him. He was found guilty and fined $500. The Daily Telegraph goes on to inform us that Jodhi did not attend the hearing. Are we surprised? Remember, doesn’t “do” live verdicts.

Gosh! that photo of him in the DT really does resemble jodhi. Is that what jodhi would look like if she lived on pizza and beer?
