Theatre Star Rob Guest In Hospital After A Stroke

Our thoughts go out to actor Rob Guest this afternoon as news emerges the star of the theatre suffered a stroke last night and is currently in St Vincents Hospital.

Guest, 57, currently starring in the musical Wicked, was admitted to Melbourne’s St Vincent’s Hospital last night, a spokeswoman for the production said.

Guest is best known for playing the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera for most of the 1990s in Australia.

Rob impressively portrayed the Phantom for – wait for it – 2289 performances! A champion effort by anyone’s standards.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
