The Wiggles Get Their Greek On!

In an effort to continue making gazillions of dollars through the production of educational entertainment shows for children, The Wiggles are now embarking on a new adventure – one that the Daily Telegraph excitedly informs us will see the lads taking off their skivvies!

Oh. Not in a nude way though. Disappointing for those who wish to bang Murray Cook, but probably better for the little ones.

After 17 years together, Australia’s richest entertainers The Wiggles have produced a TV show that won’t require them to wear a coloured skivvy.

The brainchild of Blue Wiggle Anthony Field and his brother Paul, who is also the group’s producer and director, The Kingdom of Paramithi (Greek for fairytale) is a children’s program based on telling the story of well-known nursery rhymes.

With 30 half-hour episodes already in the bag, the Fields will present the finished product at the prestigious MIPCON conference in France, the world market for TV sales, next week. The show will debut locally on Channel 9 on November 10.

Bravo, Fields.

&middot Interesting fact about Anthony Field – his Greek in-laws owned (maybe they still own it?!) a cafe in Glebe and used to serve me my coffee. The place was covered in photos of Anthony, his missus, and their bub. And I once saw Anthony there and he was startlingly handsome in the flesh.

&middot Interesting fact about The Wiggles television show! Captain Feathersword used to date Henry The Octopus in real life.
