Hmmm… Looks Like Tom Williams Would Be Rather Open To The Idea Of ‘Young Twinks’

I realise Tom Williams was kicked out of Idol over a week and a half ago and referring to interviews he may have made at that time is taking our Two Day Old News Desk TM concept to ridiculous new heights, but bear with me.

After yesterday’s Defamer Australia request that Tom Williams, Dean Geyer, and Matt Corby unite to form the ultimate boyband of Idol cast-offs called Young Twinks, I read the following quote from Tom Williams in an article dated September 30th, and thought to myself “MY GOD! THERE’S A CHANCE YOUNG TWINKS COULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN!”

Teenager Tom Williams is wasting no time after being eliminated from Australian Idol, canvassing for young singers to join him in a Jonas Brothers style band.

The 16-year-old from Adelaide, who was voted off the Network Ten singing TV show last night, said today he was keen to start up an Australian group similar to the US pop sensations.

Well, the Jonas brothers are three proud Christian virgins who are unafraid to groom themselves within an inch of their pure little lives. I wonder if we’d be able to find another two lads fitting that criteria in our very own country?

“They (The Jonas Brothers) are really big in America, so I think it will be kind of cool to have one of those kinds of bands in Australia,” Williams said.

“Just something that the teenagers can connect to. It could be really big. If anyone’s interested send me a message on MySpace.”

I’m not entirely sure it would be “kind of cool” to have Jonas Brothers Australia conquering the ARIA charts, but it would certainly be a moneyspinner for the savvy record label who puts The Virgin Three together in the studio! Of course, there’s a small chance success would elude the lads. Let’s not forget how badly this country tends to receive localised versions of successful overseas brands – am I right, Top Gear Australia? ASKS DEFAMER AUSTRALIA.

Still! I am totally convinced that Young Twinks is a goer, and belatedly stumbling across Tom’s quotes about wanting to join up with other Jonas-esque fellows to form a musical ensemble simply hammers home that we’re onto a good (probably evil but maybe funny) thing here, people.
