Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, And Paris Hilton To Star In A New HBO Show? Unbelievable!

Sometimes it can seem as though the glittering world of showbiz is so insane and illogical on a daily basis that nothing can truly shock us anymore. Well, that’s what I thought – and then I read that HBO are apparently arranging for Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton to star together in a new sitcom. And my unflappable self was well and truly flapped. Surely this cannot be true?!

Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are rumoured to be in talks to star in a sitcom together. US TV network HBO, which brought us Sex and the City, are reportedly keen to sign up the blonde trio to appear as flatmates struggling to make it big in Hollywood.

The proposed show has been described as a cross between Friends and Ugly Betty.

“The chemistry between them will be electric,” a source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper.

Erm, really?

And just when things couldn’t get weirder, guess who HBO have allegedly asked to write the script for The Unnamed Spears-Lohan-Hilton Sitcom?

Show chiefs are said to have approached Extras star Ricky Gervais and Desperate Housewives creator Mark Cherry to pen the script, which would see the trio playing characters inspired by themselves.

Right. This has to be a joke. There is no way Ricky Gervais and Mark Cherry are writing scripts for a Friends-meets-Ugly Betty sitcom featuring Britney, Lindsay, and Paris. I refuse to believe it.

“Paris will play a fashion designer who will try anything to get her outfits noticed,” the source said. “Britney’s character is an aspiring singer, but her unusual song lyrics stop her from hitting the big time.

And what of Lindsay?

“Lindsay will be a little like Joey from Friends.”

ZING! And also, very harsh. As if the Joey character wouldn’t be played by Paris Hilton! As if this incredible sounding program will ever see the light of day!
