The Sia Interview Will Be Broadcast At Midnight AEST
10:57PM Jess McGuire | Arf. I love how idiotically official this post title sounds. If you’d like to hear the Sia interview in its entirety (all the dramatic revelations and girlish giggling you’ve ever hoped for in one twenty or so minute interview!), it will be broadcast on Melbourne’s RRR 102.7FM from around midnight. If you can’t get reception, you can stream it from rrr.org.au. If you have to, take loads of speed in order to stay awake.
JUST KIDDING, KIDS/LONG HAUL TRUCK DRIVERS!
And now I promise to have a six month amnesty from typing the name “Sia” on Defamer Australia. But if I ever get Ladyhawke into a studio with me, god help you all. And her.

3:18PM Jess McGuire | Obviously many folk had opinions regarding the decision to allow assorted reality television hosts to present the Emmy Awards this year, and one of the people who happens to be firmly in the “BAD IDEA” camp is Entourage’s award winning star Jeremy Piven, who is blaming the dismal hosts for his own acceptance speech jokes bombing.
Jeremy Piven has blamed the Emmy Awards reality TV hosts for his ill-recieved acceptance speech.

Defamer Australia Talks To Sia About Tila Tequila, Lindsay Lohan, And Writing Songs With A Certain Pop Star
1:49PM Jess McGuire | Here’s a little extract from our interview with the amazing Sia, where we discussed reality television, Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan, and the Very Big Pop Star she’ll be writing with in November..
DA: I read that you’re a pop culture junkie, you used to watch Rock Of Love and Tila Teqila, is that right?
SIA: Oh my gosh, I love reality TV.
DA: Let’s talk about it!
SIA: I have this thing called TiVo. I live in New York, and it’s – I swear, you can record any program and you can go home and watch them and fast forward the adverts! And any boring bits, like where they repeat things due to lazy editing. And oh my gosh, I loved Rock Of Love, it was so amazing! Tila Tequila? Amazing. Project Runway? Amazing. America’s Next Top Model? Amazing.
DA: Did you see the second series of Tila Tequila?

YouTube Clip Of The Day
12:54PM Jess McGuire | Normally I hate talented children as they remind me of the unfulfilled dreams of fame and fortune I had in my youth (despite the fact I had no identifiable talents), and talking about preternaturally gifted kids results in me feeling incredibly bitter for the rest of my week.
THAT SAID! I saw this girl on The View today (while I was working, thank you Judgey McJudgepants) and was like, phwooaaaaaar – she’s very, very good.
She also released a book of poetry when she was seven and makes me feel bitter about the unfulfilled dreams of fame and fortune I had in my youth, so I hate her… But at least I can admit she is good – that’s progress, surely?
MORE: Gabby Wilson on MySpazz More » Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Renew Their Vows
11:40AM Jess McGuire | Awww, if this isn’t the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard… Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony have taken time out of their busy schedules to renew their wedding vows in the city of temporary love Las Vegas.
Hmm, upon reflection, it isn’t the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. That would have to be the tale of the chimpanzee who is raising white tiger cubs in South Carolina, but hey, this is a story, it involves a few famous people, and we’ve got nothing on. Let’s investigate. More »
New Unauthorised Keith Urban Biography Reveals Tommy Emmanuel Is Either The Nicest Guy In The World, Or Incredibly Insincere When Flying
10:54AM Jess McGuire | There’ a great story about Tommy Emmanuel and Nicole Kidman’s country lovin’ husband Keith Urban in Christie Eliezer’s column for themusic.com.au this week, which I found incredibly amusing.
The prolific ex-”Rolling Stone Australia” editor turned author Jeff Apter has another book on the shelves in January — “Fortunate Son: The Unlikely Rise of Keith Urban” through Random House. It’s not authorised but Apter charmed himself into the country singer’s inner circle.

A Taste Of Our Interview With Sia (Part One)
9:11AM Jess McGuire | Right, folks. The interview with Sia I mentioned earlier for the RRR show I host on Wednesday nights at Wilson Pickett O’Clock went ahead – hurrah! – and I am pleased to inform you that she is absolutely marvellous. I knew I’d like her when we fell into making incest jokes within a minute of conversation. I believe the words “wrinkly ding dong!” were happily exclaimed by Sia after a particularly off colour comment made by yours truly about grandfathers…
The interview will either be broadcast tonight on RRR at midnight (you can stream and listen from rrr.org.au) or next Wednesday night (same time, same place) – I’ve gotta sort out my schedule, but I’ll confirm by this afternoon for those net nerds who actually care.
In the meantime, would you like a nice summary of what was discussed, and a tiny snippet of audio which contains the most wonderful sentence ever muttered by a human being? (< -- YOU'LL SEE WHAT I DID THERE SHORTLY) More »
