‘SNL’ Will Have Its Reward In Heaven After This Sarah Palin Debate Skit
2:26PM Kyle Buchanan | With less than a month left to go in this presidential election, Saturday Night Live expands its resurgent political brand into special Thursday episodes starting this week, though it’s hard to see how they could possibly outdo the trilogy of Tina Fey-as-Sarah Palin appearances that continued into last night’s episode. Spoofing the mega-rated vice presidential debate, Fey joined Jason Sudeikis as Joe Biden and the previously-rumored Queen Latifah as moderator Gwen Ifill for a blockbuster, near-twelve minute sketch that left no participant unscathed. Still, despite the skit’s jabs at Biden and Ifill, this was, as ever, Fey’s moment, and she delivered her most cutting performance yet. Do we have video of the sketch after the jump? Doggone it, you betcha:
YouTube Clip Of The Day
11:38AM Jess McGuire | I don’t know why I find the following video so mind-boggling. Maybe it’s because I can’t understand what would make a normal person sitting at home think to themselves “You know, heaps of people have died. Famous people. Perhaps I could make a list of as many dead celebrities as I can think of, then display pictures of them in alphabetical order, all the while playing Evanescence in the background. Viewers would love that kind of clip on YouTube, right?”

10:23AM Jess McGuire | The article I’m about to encourage you to read isn’t about anyone particularly famous. Well, they’re not famous in Australia, but I believe the people involved are well-known British journalists. It is so gobsmackingly awful and cringey and unhinged that I thought you may get as much sick enjoyment in reading it as I did.
Basically, Daily Mail Livejournalist Rachel Royce was once married to Sunday Times columnist Rod Liddle. They had gotten hitched after spending twelve unwed years together (and producing two children), but the marriage didn’t last long. Within six months, Rod had left her for another woman named Alicia Monckton, a younger lady he’d been sleeping with before he got married to Rachel, and for whom he ended up cutting his honeymoon with Rachel short (Alicia’s mother had died, so Rod headed back home to comfort her).

Former Australian Idol Contestant Levi Kereama Dies After Falling From Hotel Balcony In Brisbane
9:06AM Jess McGuire | It always feels a bit horrible to start the week with tragic news, but sadly we must. Levi Kereama, a fellow Australian Idol viewers would remember from the very first season of the show, died on Saturday night after jumping from a hotel balcony in Brisbane.
Says the Daily Telegraph:
Levi Kereama… plunged to his death from a Brisbane hotel on Saturday night. Just hours earlier the 27-year-old had played at the Parklife Festival in Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and Riverstage.
