Theatre Star Rob Guest In Hospital After A Stroke
5:08PM Jess McGuire | Our thoughts go out to actor Rob Guest this afternoon as news emerges the star of the theatre suffered a stroke last night and is currently in St Vincents Hospital.
Guest, 57, currently starring in the musical Wicked, was admitted to Melbourne’s St Vincent’s Hospital last night, a spokeswoman for the production said.
Guest is best known for playing the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera for most of the 1990s in Australia.
Rob impressively portrayed the Phantom for – wait for it – 2289 performances! A champion effort by anyone’s standards.
We wish him a speedy recovery.

The Bass Gets Her Lez On!
4:26PM Jess McGuire | It’s a grand day for anyone who loves Natalie “The Bass” Bassingthwaighte, formerly from Rogue Traders and the soap Neighbours, and the woman also possibly spotted by me (was I imagining things?!) sitting with Ben Cousins during the AFL Grand Final over the weekend. Why? Because she’s just informed the world that her hot lesbian shower scene in her new movie Prey has not been cut from the final edit.
In an interview with this month’s Australian GQ Magazine, Bassingthwaighte gave away the juicy detail about the scene, which takes place in the shower.
Tell us more, Liquorice Legs!
More » Anthony LaPaglia Hurt On Set? Say It Ain’t So!
3:07PM Jess McGuire | Silver-ish fox Anthony LaPaglia has been injured!
HOLLYWOOD star Anthony LaPaglia was injured in an explosives accident in Darwin during the shooting of the film Balibo.
AND THIS HAPPENED ON AUSTRALIAN SOIL? To one of our living treasures? I am shocked and appalled. Where are those work place safety inspectors when you need them?
The $1 million-an-episode star of Without a Trace and Lantana was hurt when an explosive device designed to simulate a gunshot discharged into his arm, a source on the film shoot said.
I know what you’re thinking. Which hospital can you immediately send flowers and a get well card to, right? Erm, I’d slip that credit card away for now. More » Cosima DeVito’s Day In Court
1:01PM Jess McGuire | It’s been so long since I’ve thought of Cosima DeVito, I’m not sure I’m entirely happy she’s now back on my radar. Nevertheless, the Noh-jools Queen is being sued by her former managers, and it’s my duty to keep you informed of such nonsense.
From Christie’s Music News:
It’s taken three years of court appointed mediation but it seems former “Australian Idol” singer Cosima DiVito and her two ex-managers Ted Gardner and Con Nellis will finally go to court on Monday November 10.

Kylie News: Minogue The Elder To Make Brief Appearance In Comedy Show We’re Unfamiliar With
12:45PM Jess McGuire | Cleverly distracting the nation from news she may bloody well be appearing in a Kathy Lette-penned musical (seriously, I am still a bit weirded out by that), not to mention Jason Donovan’s recent revelations they first did it in a Travel Lodge, it seems Kylie’s “people” have leaked news to the press that our very own princess of pop is appearing in a comedy show we’ve never heard of and may not ever get to see! Fantastic!
KYLIE Minogue will feature in a new comedy sketch show in Britain.
The Australian pop singer has filmed a special guest appearance in London for new BBC3 show Horne and Corden, starring British actors Mathew Horne and James Corden.
Look, obviously I’m a fan of shitful and worthless news reports, but even I’m left to ask the gods whether this career development is really worthy of press in her home country?
And look out, kids, cos here comes a massive comedy spoiler! More » Rangas Attempt To Sook Their Way Out Of Free Tickets To The Zoo
11:38AM Jess McGuire | Chris Lilley’s incredibly successful ABC series of last year Summer Heights High managed to make the term “ranga” (as in, “orangutan”) the number one term of affection for red heads in both school yards and offices around the country. Personally, I am all for rangas. I think they are quite adorable, in an endangered sort of way. When a ginge falls out of the Hotness tree, they not only hit every branch on the way down, but the tree falls over and crushes them, leaving nothing but a squished mess of fiery spunk, and oh god, what am I saying again?
Oh yeah. Rangas. They’re lovely, but sometimes they’re really stupid. Dudes, if you can get free stuff like tickets to the Zoo just by allowing someone to refer to you as a “ranga”, for god’s sake, do it!
ADELAIDE Zoo has dropped an ad campaign offering free visits to all “rangas” to highlight the plight of orang-utans after sensitive redheads complained.

YouTube Clip Of The Day
10:07AM Jess McGuire | Guess what? I can’t stop watching clips of Janeane Garofalo on YouTube. I don’t know how this started, I really don’t. I mean, she’s awesome, but still. Surely I am better than this? Sometimes I get mad at her for constantly rabbiting on about how unattractive she is (when she is clearly beautiful) but as a general rule, I want to eat her up with a spoon.
In this clip, she discusses becoming a dog person. As someone who never had a dog, particularly wanted a dog, and then got a dog and find myself speaking in a weird voice and direct some of the most ridiculous terms of affection ever invented toward, I get it.
