Richard Wilkins Announces Engagement To New Missus On ‘Today’ Show

Australia’s number one imported – remember, he’s from New Zealand originally – showbiz lothario, Sir Richard Wilkins Esq, used his time on the nation’s television screens yesterday to not only inform them of various goings on in the world of entertainment, but also – he’s getting hitched! Fourth time lucky!

As you can imagine, former partner Collette Dinnigan was one of many viewers who showed signs of vague interest in this development in Richard’s romantic life.

The shock engagement of Channel 9’s resident Romeo Richard Wilkins stunned more than his Today show audience yesterday, with friends close to the TV star sensationally claiming he had proposed to his former flame Collette Dinnigan just three months ago.

You propose to Collette just three months ago? And now you’re marrying someone else? Tricky Dicky indeed!

It is understood the fashion designer and mother of his fifth child, Estella, woke up to the news the red carpet reporter plans to wed his LA-based Aussie girlfriend, Rebecca Naso.

No doubt Collette Dinnigan will be making the switch to Sunrise shortly.

With the Nine star jetting out for Los Angeles yesterday, Wilkins was unable to comment on the claims, with a friend dismissing the suggestion of a Dinnigan proposal as being “highly unlikely.”

Is this “friend” aware that Richard is about to clock up his fourth spouse? It’s not exactly like he’s shy when it comes to making (short-term) big commitments. Sounds to me as though it’s highly likely Richard proposed to Collette three months ago! In fact, I’m rather surprised and hurt Richard’s never asked me to marry him. Still, it’s only September.
