Former Home & Away Actor Ryan Kwanten Gets Naked

Remember Ryan Kwanten? He played Vinnie on Home & Away for years, then ditched Oz in favour of trying his luck in Los Angeles. He’s survived quite nicely, thanks for asking, paying the rent with roles in Summerland and assorted movies, and he’s now playing a “strapping, dim-witted Casanova” on Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball’s new program for HBO, the vampiretastic True Blood.

Happily, he’s naked in it.

“He does wear clothes, but he takes them off a lot,” True Blood’s creator, Alan Ball, who also created Six Feet Under and wrote the script for 2000 best picture Oscar winner, American Beauty, laughed during an interview.

Tell me more, Alan Ball!

“His character is sexually compulsive. He gets his self-esteem and his sense of who he is by all the women he has sex with.”

That doesn’t sound like anyone I know. Still. There’s a place for unrealistic behaviour on television, I suppose.

In interviews with the US media, Kwanten has made light of his many sex scenes in True Blood. He said the show’s crew members are used to seeing him naked. “One of the grips jokes that he sees me naked more than he does his girlfriend,” Kwanten said.

And how does Ryan look sans clothes? I’d imagine pretty good, judging from these shots (potentially not safe for work, although there’s no doodle).
