Charlotte Dawson In Talks To Host ‘AusNTM’, If By “Talks” You Mean ‘Asking Producers Where She Signs’

After news broke that Jodhi Meares would not be returning to her Australia’s Next Top Model clipboard full of notes, naturally thoughts turned to Charlotte Dawson (pictured at left enjoying a pie or twenty) stepping in and ably filling Ms Meares’ Jimmy Choos. And while Dawson – nor Foxtel – will give a concrete answer either way, I think we can safely assume the job will be (failing a guerilla casting call by Ian Thorpe) going to Dawson.

“It would definitely be something that I would love to do,” the former model said, “but I don’t mind either way because I love what I am doing now as well.”

Dawson’s spontaneity and flexibility won her the support and gratitude of [Foxtel boss Brian] Walsh, who promised her further promotion within the Foxtel ranks.

At the time of the media meltdown over Meares’s no-show, Walsh told Confidential he had earmarked Dawson for bigger gigs.

“I haven’t talked to her about it yet, but it has a big live component with a studio audience and I think she’d be great,” Walsh said.

All of which is essentially televisionese for “yes, I rang her just now and we are couriering a box of money wrapped in contracts to her house presently”. Can’t wait to see Dawson dishing it out to the moles next cycle!
