Casey Donovan Has Been Punched In The Face By An Idol Hater!
Thinking Australian Idol is a bit crap and preferring to listen to Metallica’s “Master Of Puppets” in your spare time is one thing. But carrying around your Idol hatred until a day you find a winner jiving on the dance floor of a pub and punching them in the face? Not on!
Embattled former Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan has taken another hit after allegedly being punched in the face by a man at a bar in New South Wales.
The 20-year-old singer sustained lacerations to her face and a broken finger in the random clash with two men at the Beach Palace Hotel in Sydney’s Coogee in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two men against a 20-year-old girl? Nice stuff. They must be feeling incredibly proud of themselves.
“She was out with friends having a good time and on the dance floor when she was approached and hassled by these guys,” Mr Axford said.
“They were making comments about Idol and she told them not to bother her.
“The next thing one of them punched her twice in the face.”
No touchdown.
The venue, however, has a different take on things.
Beach Palace group general manager Chris Warhurst confirmed the altercation, but said the venue’s CCTV footage “did not sustain the assault allegation”.
“She was only on the premises for 10 minutes. There was a bit of an altercation between her friends and other people. We removed all of them and police were called,” Mr Warhurst said.
So punch or no punch?
Either way. Move through the pain (emotional or facial, depending on what actually happened), Casey, and write yourself a nice hit song. Please.
