Barbara Walters Thinks A Fiery Elisabeth Hasselback Needs ‘Cooling Off’ Time

With the rumour mill buzzing that a discontent Elisabeth Hasselbeck may vacate her cushiony seat on The View for the cool, hard Eames chair of Fox News, it’s up to den mother Barbara Walters to restore order on the set of her chat show. True to form, Walters has eschewed hugging it out in favour of a more clinical approach; according to the Chicago Sun-Times, she’s had to schedule a staff meeting to deal with the increasingly hot-under-the-collar Hasselbeck:

This show has become a circus! There is NO balance on this show. I cannot believe ABC lets them get away with this shit.

Barbara kept saying this morning to Elizabeth “why do you always have to add thunder when someone else says something?” LOL! What a fucking joke! Oh and the others don’t do the same thing? So, Elizabeth is supposed to just sit there quietly while the others make idiotic comments? Come on Barbara… get real. You are all followers and do not have the guts or courage to lead. Even yesterday they attacked Kevin Farley because he is conservative and made the comment about most of Hollywood being liberal. Well, Whoopie jumped all over his ass. Nice way to treat your guests.

Why do all of the women think that their liberal views are the only ones that count? Gee Barbara… try having a fair mix on The View. Having 4 to 1 is just ridiculous. It is clear that Barbara does not care to hear other opinions that are conservative. To constantly watch the day in and day out attacks from the other women is disgusting to me. Even Barbara is now attacking Elizabeth.

Lastly, it is amazing to me that so many liberal women are threatened by Palin. The View even said last week that they think a woman who wears pantsuits and looks like Hillary is taken more seriously. Um… so don’t you think that is setting women back in time? Don’t you think that a woman can be attractive and feminine and also be intelligent?

As an Independent, I think The View needs to pick a conservative that is more tolerant of a differing view point. Elizabeth is very disrespectful towards those that don’t believe in her ideals. And it shows how she reacts to those guests. They need to find someone who is less emotional.

And as for the poster who remarked about Palin, I’m sorry but she is not ready for that role. There are plenty of other female conservative leaders who are more suitable for the VP nod.

Elizabeth, I would like to see you walk off the show and join fox. I am sure you would be very welcome there. Barbara is your worst enemy now and the other day, not quite out of camera range you could see her hands shushing you. You don’t need them, the show needs you more than them. Good luck to you and stick with your convictions.

I agree with L Fitzpatrick completely, Elizabeth. Go to FoxNews, because that’s where the Republican crowd is unflinching and unwilling to compromise or see both sides of any issue. When’s the last time a Democrat has done any good according to Fox? It’s the perfect match!

Plus, I won’t have to watch a vapid McCain talking head. Give me a Republican viewpoint that is measured and can see both sides of an issue. Hasselbeck is just a plain Hassle, no different than an Ann “Colder than Hell” Coulter. And God knows how much we LOVE her. Good riddance.

With regards to Mel, as I am an independent myself, I also have not found my main questions about Palin answered. Namely: 1.) Why was she more qualified than the large number of female Republicans with unarguably much more experience? 2.) Why is it automatically media-bias to question Palin, a candidate that we know little to nothing about? 3.) Why is unfair to attack her recent interviews when this tape is essentially all we have on Palin speaking on world issues? Shouldn’t she be engaging the press more, rather than less?

I find it most revealing that ardent Republican supporters have taken to casting stones instead of scrutinizing their own candidate. To question blind Obama loyalty and decision-making capabilities without fully vetting your own VP candidate for the national public is the most obvious contradiction of this whole election.
