Australia's Favourite Gardening Gurus Have Turned On Each Other!

Australian Post Posted by Jess McGuire at 9:07 AM on September 4, 2008

I've always heard that gardening and spending quality time with plantlife kept you all Zen and shizz, but latest reports in the paper would indicate that's not the case. Oprah's new favourite plaything Jamie Durie and Australia's other top dude who digs stuff on a renovation show Scott Cam are bitching about each other with all the spite and venom one would expect from teenage girls. And I for one love it.

The gardening gloves are off, with Jamie Durie's former Nine co-star Scott Cam shaming the Seven personality for "offensive" comments he made which pitted Durie's new program against the makeover of Sydney survivor Lauren Huxley.

Uh-oh. Did golden boy Jamie actually say something offensive? Say it ain't so!

Cam slammed his former Backyard Blitz colleague for remarks he made on the promo trail for The Outdoor Room last week, where Durie stated "you don't have to be sick to be on this show". With his new Seven show making its debut on Sunday against Cam's Domestic Blitz, featuring a surprise makeover for the Huxley family, Cam described Durie's comments as "very misguided and frankly offensive".

I smell a superbly timed guilt trip coming.

What I think he's forgetting is Lauren Huxley wasn't sick," Cam told 2UE's Steve Price. "She was a beautiful young girl, walking down the street and attacked by a monster and left to die.

Wahey, and thar she blows! Well executed, Mr Cam.

"We worked very hard on (Backyard Blitz) for eight years. He was a big part of that, then all of a sudden he said it was a sausage factory and he got bored with it," Cam said.

Ummm, I might just have all things rainbow on the brain, but isn't the term 'sausage factory' an expression which means things have taken a turn for the homosexual? Which reminds me of a completely defamatory story I once heard which I couldn't possibly repeat here which may or may not be relevant to this particular story.

Let us all pray that Scott Cam and Jamie Durie bury their differences, scattering some chook poo on top of it, and may something beautiful grow from their shit.
