Anyway, moving on… I stick by last week’s assessment of Roshini as poo-on-the-stage rubbish. She loves her R&B diva act but Madam really showed her up. Madam’s was a much more nuanced performance, too, than Chrislyn, who did a good Aretha but really, I wonder if she’ll be able to get away with bellowing and shambling about the stage every week.

I thought Spano did a pretty good job. And I missed the full version of Wes but from the recap he sounded okay. Sophie just appears confused, and I enjoyed that the judges pulled her up for the weird mumbling that she calls ’singing’. Also, I despise her for being ashamed of her ranganess.
