If Only All Radio Comedians Were Actually Comedic

Ed K.jpgWhen it comes to radio presenters who double as comedians, more often than not you could be forgiven for thinking that the commercial radio networks’ definition of “comedy” was closer to “funereal” than “funny”, so let’s give thanks for the Nova Network’s Ed Kavalee. Wrong Way Home’s Kavalee (also a regular in the supporting cast of Thank God You’re Here) hopped a red-eye to interview Pink before she returns to Australia on tour, and he has plans to make her trip a memorable one:

“First I would take her to the Jam Factory to show off how good I am on the skill testers,” he said.

“Then I would pretend to be cool and take her to Lentil as Anything so she wouldn’t have to know how cheap I am, and then I would challenge her to a game of table tennis at home.”

Brilliant! Because every dude who takes chicks on dates to Lentil (for those of you interstate, it’s a ‘pay what you feel’ vegetarian restaurant) is doing it to look sensitive and hip, but in reality they just want to pay $6.75 for a two-course meal. Top work, Ed - Pink would be mad not to take you up on your offer of a rockin’ good time.

I have to admit I developed a bit of a girly crush on Ed after listening to him on Get This with Tony Martin. God Triple M are such morons for canceling that show.

I love this guy. After seeing him on Good News Week my immediate reaction was “what the fck? the improv guy from thank god you’re here is funnier than any person i’ve actually seen on thank god you’re here?”
    He is totally great.
