sallymclennan.jpgIt seems like only a week ago we were pumping our fists in the air and calling Stephanie Rice the greatest Facebooker Australian Olympic hero evs, but it's time for her step aside and make way for Defamer Australia's newest champion, silver medal winning hurdler Sally McLennan.

Sally has won the hearts of a nation not only for her stunning performance on the track, but also (and more importantly) for her refreshingly honest post-race interview which featured brilliantly executed use of the word "SHIT!",

McLellan, 21, hugged and danced in celebration with bronze medallist Priscilla Lopes-Schliep on the track after the results were announced.

The hurdler was clearly stunned when interviewed after the race. "Oh my god you've got to be kidding me," she said before recounting the moment in the race when competitors started overtaking her after being quickest out of the blocks. What went through her mind was, "S..t," she said.

A well-timed swear which has impressed Australian viewers who immediately swarmed on the Beijing Olympics page on the Fox Sports site to express their delight over both her win and her dirty mouth.

Steve wrote: "I had never heard of this girl before, but seeing her celebrate after winning her silver, I now love her. Anyone would have thought she won the gold, silver and bronze in the one event. Good on you Sally. Also possibly the first athlete I've heard say "s#&t"; in the interview just after the race."

In fact, Sally's stellar performance even resulted in an older gent bawling his eyes out with glee.

One man said he cried for the first time since his youth when he saw McLellan dancing with joy after the race. Col wrote: "No words can describe the tears that came to my eyes when you danced your bloody head off... I am an Australian War Veteran and havent cried since my youth; thank you, you legend u."

WE LOVE YOU SALLY!
