Heath Ledger's Death Loft Yours For $26,000 Per Month

After a bit of a false start, the SoHo apartment where Heath Ledger died last January is apparently back on the rental market. And what a deal can be had at $26,000 per month — an increase of more than 20% over Ledger's $22,000 monthly rent after moving in last September. Steep! But again, these are post-Dark Knight dollars, and the mythology premium is good for at least 10% over the usual bump you see around the neighbourhood. Just ask a broker!
"You don't wait around in a hot rental market like this," said one broker at the time. "As ghoulish as it sounds, people will rent that place in a heartbeat." ...
Ledger began renting the fourth-floor unit at 419-421 Broome St. last September after finishing his Joker role. It includes three bedrooms, 2½ bathrooms, an office, a laundry room, a gourmet kitchen and an 80-square-foot balcony. Also featured are 15-foot tin ceilings, exposed brick walls and a wood-burning fireplace.
And, for no extra charge, the inherent promise of Terry Gilliam hating you almost instantly. Really, some opportunities just transcend money.

The upside is that Heath Ledger's ghost will act as your cook and housekeeper. So you save money on hiring domestics.
The downside, assorted Olsen twins will come knocking on the door every month screaming: "Gimme my damn rent money you mooching bastard!" And she even does it when you're all paid up.

Hope it includes for an Olsen to call the private Medics and to direct the massage therapist to clear out the illegal stash... when you, like, need some assistance in remaining alive.
On a lighter note - the dumb pawns in Perth, Australia are going to call their new city theatre after Heath. Hope they've budgeted for a drug shooting gallery downstairs...

This is ridiculous! People should really look into owning Heath Ledger's apartment. Renting is for suckers.
