Dannii Will Think Twice Before Hitting That Big ‘X’ Button Again

As though it weren’t already bad enough that our wholesome reality television talent quests were populated by deluded people who’ve never heard the word “no” and consequently think they sound like Stevie Wonder (when the reality is closer to Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia!), now the poor judges can’t even give a contestant the boot without fearing for their safety – just ask our Dannii Minogue, who co-panels the X Factor desk in the UK.

Minogue had been judging performers in a round of auditions for the X Factor when she used her casting vote to stop a male singer from going through to the next round.

Her vote angered not only the singer but his family as well, who waited to confront her.

The 36-year-old has told a Scottish newspaper she was “petrified” as the singer and his family tried to corner her.

She says she only felt safe enough to return after fellow judge Simon Cowell agreed to lend her his hefty bodyguard.

“I hid near him. If I feel frightened, I’ll always run to him. Tony’s a friendly giant but I wouldn’t mess with him,” Dannii said.

Lord in heaven, thank goodness for friendly Tony! But the most crucial piece of information in this story is missing: WHAT DID HE SING? Because if he came out and sang Tiptoe Through The Tulips or something before threatening to waste our Dannii, well, I hope it ends up on YouTube.
