The Cutthroat World Of Celebrity Toddler Fashion Just Got A Little More Fierce

Poor little Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt. Not only does she face a future of scratch marks on her chubby cheeks wielded by notoriously jealous Zahara, but the female half of the Chosen Twins has to compete with older sister Shiloh for a spot on Hollywood's Best Dressed Little Girls list. OK! has released their juvenile version of Mr. Blackwell's annual rundown, awarding gold stars to everyone from newborn Harlow Madden, with her "mix between chic and rock," to 2-year old Shiloh's ability to "navigate the line between girly glam and tomboy cutting edge." Yes, well done, Chosen One. What skill and grace it must take to lie back, spit up a few gaga goos, and wait for personal dresser Brad Pitt to equip you with a pricey new cashmere-and-diamond onesie. The rest of the list, including the mag's pick for #1 most fashionable little doomed diva, after the jump.

A hearty congratulations to Suri Cruise, whose highbrow taste in designer duds earned her a spot at the very top of the list (in full, here). And Tom's "stylish" little prisoner's ensemble this past 4th of July, with her flag antennae and plaid jumper, really showcase the 2-year old's sartorial eye. Shiloh pouted her way into second place, while none other than Violet Affleck received the bronze. Yes, pairing thick socks with that Ugg-ish footwear fad, "vibrant baby Crocs," really warrants the fashion spotlight. But we do award bonus points to OK! for including "typical hipster" Matilda Ledger on the list — Matilda's uncanny resemblance to her late dad is surprisingly comforting, especially in photos of the adorable 2-year old smiling.

Mother Earth News is feverishly working on a similar piece meant to showcase the less ostentatious Hollywood parents. Word on the street is coverbaby Bongos McConaughey will be wearing his favorite outfit. That's right, his birthday suit!

just a word to the wise - those are Crocs, not Uggs, although as hideous as they are i can see why Uggs would seem the logical choice

remember those shoes toddlers used to wear? the ones that kept them from developing horrendous foot problems later in life? i wouldn't let my child wear loose-fitting plastic shoes at that age . . .

Yeah, whatever happened to those rock-hard baby orthopedic shoes that only came in white for girls and black for boys? If those were so necessary for us, how come little girls get to wear two-inch heels now? Somebody explain THAT!

@JudyPaceFace: I don't know about yours, but I'm pretty sure mine are bronzed and sitting on a shelf or in a closet collecting dust.

@JudyPaceFace: it's not as if they need shoes to actually 'walk' somewhere. let the nannies do the walking!

They are all beautiful children, but Matilda is always dressed as if she'd just crawled out of a clearance bin at Value Village.

@raincoaster: That's just one way of saying that Matilda seems to be the only kid on this list who looks real, who looks like she actually goes to a playground and gets her sturdy little clothes dirty - unlike e.g. Suri Cruise, who probably still has no idea what a playground is.

@Bear_Necessities: Not at all. I get paid to blog about kid fashions and I know quite well that Suri has been to a playground (and that the one they went to recently was wiped down with sanitizer first) AND that Matilda wears overpriced clothing. It's just that it's ugly, depressing, hipster overpriced clothing. Like if Michael Kors did a mourning collection in toddler sizes.

Ugh, this is how it all starts. I read an article last week talking about mothers who are bringing their pre-teen daughters to the spa for pedis, manis, blow-outs, massages and waxing. Yep, that's right, waxing. Down there. Even when there's nothing there to be waxed!! I'm all for giving your daughters good self-esteem and positive body image, but this isn't it. How are these children going to handle the truth that they will never look like magazine cover models? How are children going to understand that you can't always have designer everything? Whatever happened to moderation ?
I fully recognize that my future children are going to hate me.

How much does Tom Cruise pay to get his kid on the list? If anyone were paying attention, Suri's clothes may be expensive, but they are ill-fitting, inappropriate for the occasions, and she usually needs a haircut.
