Cat Attack Sidelines 'Greatest American Dog' Contestant, Reality-Show Tears Ensue
Posted by Defamer Hollywood at 4:05 AM on July 19, 2008
Last night CBS unleashed its second episode of Greatest American Dog on the American public, which promptly reached for its pepper spray before realizing the cutthroat canine competition is perhaps just the kind of gentle, slobbering reality friend we need in the summer of Denise Richards. To a point, anyhow; we wouldn't necessarily trust any of these freaks with our dogs, and we still can't be sure if Thursday's sedated-pooch pathos was touching, eerie or simply the most garishly dramatic reality-show tear-shedding of the year. Watch for yourself, tell us your choice and, in any case, wish poor Star a speedy recovery. Eleven percent of America is pulling for you, puppy! [CBS]

What you don't see on the clip is that the owner thought it was a rattlesnake bite and rushed Star off to the emergency vet clinic where he was informed it was not a snake bite and MAY have been from a cat. They never conclusively determined what caused it.
My money's on Star trying to bite her own ear off rather than listen to her owner or any of the other morons on that show.

Good golly Miss Molly! I love my dog, but the pooch had a fight...WITH A CAT for chrissakes. Wowzers. That must've been one mean tabby. I'm more shocked at all the old fellers saying "dude" all the time and sporting a backwards hat.

The quick shots of the concerned dogs brought tears to my eyes.

What I love about dog people is that they think sweet kitties are the meanest animals around. If I were Star's owner, I'd be more worried about Star's inability to himself against a cat.

I'm a dog person. I love cats, too. If my dogs go up against my cats, they learn a very painful lesson about claws. It's called a learning curve, Star; although Oxy may also be right. And if Star can learn this, maybe there's hope for the "dude." Nah. I'm still not watching this crap.
