ABC News Investigative Series, 'Ewww: Icky, Icky Celebrity Gays,' Dares To Ask The Tough Gay-Panic Questions
Posted by Seth at 2:00 AM on June 6, 2008
ABCNews.com has noticed that practitioners of Hollywood's dirty little secret—same-sex love—have become increasingly emboldened in recent months, perhaps spurred on by Supreme Court rulings and increasingly desperate shock-starlets hoping to nudge up their per-staged-paparazzi-op asking prices. Their investigative team have therefore taken it upon themselves to blow the lid wide open on the distressing, "gay celebrities leading their lives openly and happily" trend currently plaguing the industry.
Following on the heels of their game-changing field report, "Stars' Gay Marriage Possible Career Suicide," the electronic news outlet now goes even deeper undercover to unmask "H'wood's Bisexual Double Standard: Hot for Girls, Gross for Guys"—a blistering, for-your-Pulitzer-consideration exposé that should ultimately allay your darkest, A Shot At Love with Andy Dick-greenlighting fears.

I thought we'd at least gotten to Hot for Girls, Immaterial for Character Actors, and Gross for Leading Men Except in Niche Markets.

This brings to mind the line toward the end of 'Bowfinger' when Heather Graham, who's been flailing around trying to break into The Industry, comes running into a room with a woman in tow and introduces her by saying (not exact quotation) "She's the second most powerful lesbian in Hollywood!"

@TryThisAtHome: Oh god, I went to the Shatner Roast. Longest fucking night ever. I was there, I swear, about four hours and it wasn't even finished yet. I bolted as soon as Patton Oswalt did his part.

@TryThisAtHome: Wasn't he a villian in something? Desperate Housewives?

Of course I mean't George Takei, not Tanaka. I have no idea who George Tanaka might be, but if there is a George Tanaka who is reading this, I apologize.

It's not gross for guys, it's just gross thinking about George Tanaka. Saw him on the William Shatner roast, and Tanaka was mean. Not mean in a funny way....just very very mean.

@heidiho: Good move! The only funny bit was Betty White.

@TryThisAtHome: Oh she was hilarious, and my mouth dropped open in shock so many times. They edited her part quite a bit.

@TryThisAtHome: Tanaka was the name of Holly Gennaro's boss in Die Hard! I don't know what his first name was, though.
@TurdBlossom: He was on Heroes as a mysterious figure who was first thought to be a villain and then later revealed as a hero. Don't ask me how I know that, because I don't actually watch that show.
Also, EVERYONE on Desperate Housewives is a villain.

The standards for bisexuality are the same as anything else: hot for hot people, gross for gross people.

Somebody has a secret, subconscious (conscious?) crush on Superman.
Search imdb for "George Tanaka"...
