New Blind Item Proves That Lesbian Chic Trend Continues Unabated
Posted by Molly Friedman at 3:10 AM on June 17, 2008
Naturally we couldn't ignore a blind item involving our favourite celebrity trend of the season, lesbian chic, that appeared in yesterday's NY Daily News. Especially when the item not only involves a starlet who dabbles in Lohan/Ronson-inspired games with the same sex, but also outs her bad boy boyfriend for helping her appear as straight as possible in the public eye. As the News asks today:
"Which starlet with an often-troubled boyfriend actually plays for the other team &emdash; and puts up with her boy toy's habits to maintain hetero appearances?"
While many Young Hollywood players are currently afflicted with that equally trendy need to date cads, only a few from the club cross our mind as potential lady lovers. Our guesses after the jump.
Anne Hathaway:
As much as we adore Anne, we've been notably confused lately as to why the scandal-free actress has spent so many years standing by her man, real estate investor/lawsuit-magnet Raffaello Follieri, even after his money-grubbing headlines repeatedly coincide with her movie release dates.
Heidi Montag:
Is Heidi really a starlet? Debatable, but what isn't? The fact that no one is more concerned with keeping up "appearances" than the Hills deviant and her "habits"-plagued boyfriend Spencer Pratt. Plus, that whole Grieving Over Lauren's Friendship story line that's continued through two seasons only makes sense when you add lesbian undertones to it.
Jennifer Aniston:
Aniston's never made her pro-lesbian outlook a secret, and we've been wondering why the well-toned wonder would be swimming in the cad pool ever since first catching sight of her fembot nipples inches away from John Mayer's O Face. Though "starlet" hardly does the A-lister justice.
Your turn to add up the elements and guess away!

I thought Anne Hathaway's brother was gay. Wasn't it her giving some speech at a glaad award thing about him coming out over dinner or something? No it's not her. What the heck defines 'starlet' anyway? I thought she's already a star or whatever.

It's Hathaway. She wasn't so secretive about it a couple years ago but now that she's an 'A-Lister', I guess she figures she needs the beard.

Amy Winehouse... because no self-respecting man would hit that trash bag now, she's only left with the lezzies to get her emotional fix.

Is it "dabbling" or full-on Lesbinism? Any of the above may dabble (heck, it's almost a requirement these days isn't it?)but I doubt any of them except Anne are actually gay.

I'd say Madonna except "starlet" can't possibly apply to her by age or experience... perhaps height?

I was thinking the blind item was Anne Hathaway. But then again that funny looking dude wouldn't be considered a boy-toy.

Heidi: no. No lesbian would keep that douchebag around, even for appearances.
I have my doubts about Aniston. Too much canoodling. And too much Brad-Pitt-loving in her past.
Anne: maaaaybe so! I would buy it.
I wish it were Kate Moss.
I have none of my own ideas, though.

I'm going with Posh. Because of Becks injuries and what-nots. And because I suck at these blind items.

There have been rumors for some time that Hathaway was getting very close to her "Prada" co-star (Emily Blunt, not Meryl Streep), so I vote for the Princess and what may be in her personal diary.

I hope it's Anne.
If I can't have her, no man should!

@want: No way! The lesbian kiss she shares with Courtney Cox on "Dirt" is the worst I've ever seen. No lessies there. Gotta be Anne.

Jennifer Aniston is a lesbian - and frankly a lazy one considering her PR boyfriend choices since Brad. Damn girl - put a little effort into it and if you kiss one more trifling fool on a balcony or poolside or anywhere else that you can be sure to be photographed - don't be surprised if I throw a bucket of water on you - rent a room woman - you are not in high school. It is not the "acting" you love - it is the lying.
Hathaway and Portman are both dating "men" who appear to be odd choices - but, yeah, Hathaway since her "boyfriend's" troubles seem to be money and if it were really love and not just press - the girl would have just written a check by now (call George Clooney to see how it is done dear).
The rules are still the same - as you start to reach the top of Mt. Olympus - as the peak becomes in reach - your sexuality is not important - what is important - as politicians know - is your willingness to tell the lie - to marry, to have kids, to make yourself understandable - it is a three-note performance - just be sure to land all three notes.

SanFranBetsu - God love ya - regarding the lesbian kiss on "Dirt" - I said Jennifer was a LESBIAN - I never said she - or Courtney for that matter - was a good actress.
Yes dear, take my word for it - life - and truth - often happen without the accompanying pictures - or video - don't ask me how that is possible - but trust me - even without photographic proof - even without video - it is surely possible that Jennifer is a raging-tearing lesbian.
