‘Twilight’ May Look Sexy On-Screen, But The Only Action On-Set Involved ‘Runny Noses’ And ‘Hail Globs’
As we noted last week, the highly anticipated Twilight franchise appears to be far steamier and sexier than the books’ tween fans may have expected. And a profile on the film in yesterday’s LAT suggests the series’ author Stephenie Meyer may be just as surprised. Described by the article’s author as “chaste,” the Mormon mother of three sounds like the near opposite of director and “troubled-teen expert” Catherine Hardwicke. But as the article reveals, no matter how hot and bothered we felt after watching the teaser trailer, the actual action on set wasn’t putting any of its gorgeous cast members in the mood:
Slathered in pale vampire makeup with alternating doses of sun, rain and “hail globs the size of golf balls,” actors huddle in a heated ‘fire tent’ and stuff Kleenex to their cold, runny noses; they exchange rubber boots for Adidas just before the cameras roll.

The image that you have at the top of the article states the release date as November 12, 2008. Is the release date in Australia really a month earlier or is it a mistake on the creator of the image’s part?
Is it supposed to say “12 November 2008″ on that picture? Everywhere else says it’s coming out December 12th.

Ok so One thing caught my attention here and thats the movie poster you have used. This shows that the Australian Media havnt grasped the concept that this is a worldwide sensation.
The Fan base for the books and movies are huge and you didnt even bother to put up the correct Poster!
I ask that you please check out MTV.com, TwilightAustralia.net, TwilightLexicon.com and StephenieMeyer.com, and see how huge this fanbase is. We need the Media behind us little Aussies to stand up to the USA. We want as much publicity over here!!
But we cant do it without the media. We cant make ourselves known without the big guns fighting for us! Please research this a little further, and im sure you will realise the love for this story and help us!!
I love the poster of Robert and Kirsten, they look very good together. I have to agree with the director, even though it seems strange, a foggy evening is scary and sexy all in one.
I agree with AussiePattinson Love: how can this issue be dignified if it doesn’t have the right movie poster. Okay, so it may be a common image which everyone knows, but im pretty sure it was created by a fan…
But you have me thinking too…i understand that u might think that placing a film where it rains and the temperature drops to 0*C is wrong, but i’ve been on set for bad bush (film on the central coast, australia) and had to do the same thing the volunteers had to do on the Twilight set (carry hot water bottles, blankets, towels, tissues, you name it!)….it seems stupid and reckless but it’s not. I’d rather it have been done there than in some room with green paint on the wall and pretending to be cold…the actors have got to feel every little bit to actually understand what their characters should feel and do (i do drama so i’ve got to understand)…
