Teenagers Fuck (And Other Lessons From The Miley Cyrus Debacle)
We’re so confused. An extra day’s digestion of the Miley Cyrus/Vanity Fair photo “scandal” hasn’t cleared much up for us in the way of morals, betrayals, exploitations and career management of the young Hannah Montana star, but the public meltdown has alerted us to a more basic truth that is helping guide us through the fog of outrage. This isn’t about Miley Cyrus without a shirt on or if she’s been seen somewhere in her lingerie, or if her father dropped the ball.
It’s simpler than any of that; this whole thing comes down to picture of a 15-year-old looking like she just got the shit fucked out of her. And if there’s anything America loves more than a war, it’s teenagers fucking.

The message is - there is no point in discouraging teens from fucking.
Now, I did not know Miley’s photo shoot had anything to do with her fucking and being sexually active at 15. But, the author would like you to imagine her in this light….and be O.K., or at least resigned to such behavior with 15 Y.O.’s.
What is the age group reading these articles do you think ?
Hanna Montanna fans ? 8-12 Y.O.’s ?
A certain portion of our population does all sorts of things that we as a society disapprove of .
Should we embrace it all if we can not prevent it all ?
People will cheat, duh ! Accept it ? Embrace it ?
People will steal, duh ! Accept it ? Embrace it ?
People will murder, duh ! Accept it ? Embrace it ?
People will lock away their daughters and rape them, duh ! Accept it ? Embrace it ?
Seems to be the logic of this writer.
“Is it right? Is it wrong? It doesn’t matter, because teenagers fuck.”
“..if there’s anything America loves (more than a war,) it’s teenagers fucking” I would like to see the polling on this one.
How about we discourage the ’soft porn’ peddling of 15 year olds. Especially those who are icons to our 8-12 year old daughters.
If I had a young daughter this kinda shit…promoted by adults would piss me off.
I know it exists and always will.
BUT , should we really be promoting it. Tell society to accept it ? Embrace it ?
