Elisabeth Hasselbeck On The Subtle Differences Between PB&J Sandwiches and Cannibalism
Posted by Mark Graham at 7:57 AM on March 25, 2008
In these politically charged times, we are hard pressed to think of four more qualified individuals to address the delicate issue of race and religion than three comediennes and a former reality show contestant. That said, we don't cast The View, we just watch it. And this morning's show featured a real humdinger of a Hot Topic, as the conversation between the ladies of The View turned once again towards the controversial subject of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. As Whoopi and Joy attempted to bring Elisabeth to the realisation that she may have unfairly slighted Obama by equating his views on race in America with his Reverend's, the backed-into-a-corner Liz broke out one of the more ridiculous analogies we have ever heard air on public television. Expect a lawsuit from the good people at JIF and Smucker's to be filed within the hour. [The View]

I completely agree with Elizabeth. Wright was Obamas personal pastor for 20 years. How is that the same as Falwell or Robertson? They were never personal pastors and mentors to any Republican presidents.

Do you really believe that if some white pastor had made comment after comment after comment degrading black people that hollywood and the liberal media would be saying "Oh, well we can't just take these soundbites and label this pastor as racist!" Did the liberal press give Mel Gibson any sympathy regarding his one taped bigoted (drunk) comment about Jews? I actually liked Obama (still didn't agree with his liberal stance) until this. He knew damned well what his pastor believed! I am sick of all politicians (republican & democrat) acting like we are a bunch of idiots and talking down to us as if we were children! And give Elizabeth a break - she walks onstage everyday already outnumbered 3 to 1 on political/moral issues!

I really get the feeling Whoopi and Joy, with off-site calls from Rosie O'Donnell, have hatched a backstage deal to publicly humiliate Elisabeth at every given turn. They completely tag-team her all the time. It is a vision to behold!

"First of all, if you're asking if I would do that, I 'A' am not running for president; I 'A' am not preaching one America..."
Between the flat-earther Muppet Lady and a religious zealot who doesn't know the alphabet past 'A', the right side of that cafe table is postitively Algonquinesque.

Actually - and I'm sad that I know this - Jeffrey Dahmer was on the Super Size Me diet and ate McDonald's for nearly every meal.
And really, Elizabeth, when Sherri comes off as being reasonable and intelligent in comparison, it's time to shut up.

Ever get the feeling that inside Lizzie's noggin is a dancing monkey and an old-timey phonograph playing a continuous loop of the circus theme song?

I love how Elisabeth humiliates herself every time she tries to use that brain of hers. I envy her naivite in a way. It must be absolutely wonderful to wake up every day to a simple, uncomplicated, and disengaged world. Her ignorance is her bliss, and if it steps on other's necks she can't be bothered. She belongs on AM talk radio.

@Seth: Cannibalism was probably a step up, healthwise.

@heidiho: Yes. And the phonograph is skipping/hiccuping on the same Biblican rhetoric over, and over...

@el smrtmnky: It's like she's goading and taunting her now, setting a daily trap for her to walk into and make a total ass of herself. She's much more clever than Rosie. Just slyly setting it up so that Elisabeth herself pulls the noose tighter and tighter.

@Tippi from Toronto: whoopi's eroded patience and disdain for that crackpot shows up on her face every time hasselbeck opens her mouth.

Is it possible that Hasselbeck is getting dumber? I'm not knocking it, I'm a Democrat, I'm enjoying it.

@Tippi from Toronto: I have a whole new appreciation for Joy after watching this clip. I don't know don't if it's a conspiracy, but whatever it is, I like it.

Pooor Elisabeth. It must be trying for her to live in a world in which others make their conversational points using fact and logic, and she's simply regurgitating whatever comes off the RNC BlastFax that morning.

One might assume that EH has been eating tainted beef because every time she speaks all I can think of is mad cow disease....

@Oxytone: Fox News being what is is, should have the both of them on a talk show. Why not? Give us Colosseum goers something fun to watch. Two intellectual trainwrecks somehow holding it together in today's modern world.
