Defamer Does L'oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival: Day Four
Just when you thought you'd had enough fashion to last you from here to eternity, the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival is the stylish gift that just keeps on giving. In fact, you couldn't stop it from giving, such is the unending avalanche of its sartorial smorgasbord, so here goes your report from the front lines of Fashion Fest, day four. Send food and supplies, please.
ON THE CATWALK: WE LOVED
* Morrissey's black sequin shift dress.
* White Suede's green leather bolero and lurex body shirt.
* Umm... that's about it, actually. Sadly, most of Runway 6's participants (looking at you, Bettina Liano) seemed to be trotting out the same stuff they've been doing for approximately the last ten or so seasons.
ON THE CATWALK: WE LOL'D
* The Joe Black model who looked terribly embarrassed by his oversized floral corsage and cane combination; he should consider making it his full-time steez, though, as the row full of women behind Defamer seemed to find it coo-inducingly adorable.
* The high concentration of onefellswoop designs that had pleated pockets and cowls that looked worryingly vagina-like.
* This Bettina Liano creation - did the model forget to take off her white lace bra, or is it part of the dress? Either way, DO NOT WANT.
* Kerry Grima's gold nanna jacket buttoned over a black evening gown. "Juxtaposition" doesn't even begin to describe the hilarity.
IN THE FRONT ROW
* Michala Banas was back, and chatting across the catwalk to...
* ...Rob "Millsy" Mills! Millsy, dressed to impress in jeans, singlet and baseball cap, amused himself by making loser 'L' signals at Michala, and then pretending to drink his San Pellegrino like a spastic. Comedy gold, Rob, comedy gold!
* THE GAUCH IN THE HOUSE! Yep, Natalie Gauci is evidently back from OS and was looking like a suburban secretary nice with a new shorter, curlier hairstyle that for some reason made us think of vintage Noni Hazelhurst. Which we're sure was precisely the look she was going for.
