Craig Ferguson's Conversation With Christian Siriano: Needs More Fierceness
Posted by Molly Friedman at 9:35 AM on March 29, 2008
Project Runway winner Christian Siriano made an appearance on down but not out Craig Ferguson's show last night. As the awkwardness of the fierce tranny hot mess of a 21-year old fashion wunderkind attempting to make conversation with the pinstriped Scot gradually began to fade, conversation predictably shifted towards hair. Christian has made great use of his mullet-meets-Warhol 'do, and after lazily beginning to describe what it's all about for the umpteenth time, silly ol' Ferguson suddenly went into a state of hysterics at the thought of both he and Christian going platinum blonde together. Apparently, you see, Craig had tried to get producers at hipper than hip CBS to allow him to bleach his salt-and-pepper 'do. Their response? "They were like, no way girl!" We still have absolutely no idea how to react to this claim, or to Ferguson's Howard Dean-like scream, so we'll just let you watch and share in our confusion.

Why is Craig Ferguson on so late? And if Jay Leno is retiring, why isn't he going to take his place. LOVE Craig Ferguson. I wonder if Jay would've asked Christian for his "gayest" look? But Craig has fun w/him. Just saying.

The man studied under Peter Cook. Peter-Fuckin'-Cook.
You know he could skin and parboil the average Hollywood celebutard with only one word, but he doesn't. But he should. He could be the Deer Hunter of late night sarcasm.

@Superstarsteve:
He's not replacing Leno because he isn't even on the same channel. He follows Dave Letterman, whose production company currently employs Ferguson. Who is actually really funny. His monologues are smart and well-constructed, and the rambling way he delivers them is like a pleasant stroll along the banks of his crackpot stream of consciousness.
in general:
Siriano? Anyone with strong feelings about such a marginal character needs to ease off the [addictive substance] and relax a bit. He's hardly a threat on any level, and can even be somewhat entertaining if you could just pay attention to something other than being a dick for two minutes.

Question: Why is the super trendy fashion wunderkind dressed like my Great Aunt Florence?

@Cacafuego: Are you saying he dresses like your period?
As for Craig Ferguson, everyone should read his book, "Between the Bridge and the River." I saw him interviewed by David Duchovny at the Writer's Bloc. Truly a talented individual.

OH. MY. GOD.
That's the first time I've seen Craig Ferguson in years, and I can't believe he's morphed into a middle-aged, perma-tanned Letterman/Leno. I mean, I'm sure he's very good at it and I heard he was a success in the US but the transformation is incredible.
He's really only known in his home country for cheap, unfunny sketch shows/guest appearances on panel shows/nothing in the last 15 years.
Ah well, good for him.

@weelyn: Can we interest you in a Dane Cook, perhaps?

@weelyn: That's because he was over here in the US getting his work on (Particularly on the Drew Carey Show).
