· Tonight, we point the viral video spotlight on aspiring actress Amy Walker, who gives us a delightful vocal tour of twenty-one different vocal accents in just under two-and-a-half minutes. If only this woman had been around to give Kevin Costner a few pointers before shooting Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves! [YouTube]
· Best Week Ever counts down the Top 20 stupid faces made by Patrick Swayze in Ghost. We're partial to numbers 11, 8 and 3. [Best Week Ever]
· A warning: those of you who haven't built up your tolerance to heavy pancake makeup jobs best avoid clicking to see these up close and personal pictures of Katherine Heigl. [Egotastic]
· Fortunately for Will Ferrell, kid reviewer par excellence Sexman liked Semi-Pro WAY more than Jumper. [YouTube via /Film]
· Nerdy boys who came of age during the late `70s and early `80s will surely shed a few tears when they learn that Gary Gygax, the creator of Dungeons & Dragons, passed away earlier today. True story: a young Uncle Grambo once mailed a manuscript for an adventure that a friend and I concocted to his Lake Geneva, WI home (unfortch, we never heard back). Regardless, we'll be rolling our 20-sided die and pouring out a mug of mead tonight in his honor. [Vulture]

That is fucking shocking. Besides the fact that it offends pretty much every region of folks she tries to impersonate, any mediorcre second year acting student could eat a cup full o' crap and atill get more castings than she will. Good luck honey!

I refute that that is an Australian accent. Not bad considering the butchering it usually recieves... but no.

I pretty much believed all of them, until she claimed to be from Toronto . . . and then I didn't believe any of them. If she'd said "Gander, Newfoundland" I was going to clap. But the TDot? . . . uh, nah.

I'm sorry, what was your name again? I kid. Some of the accents weren't bad, but a couple were atrocious. Has she no one in her life who cares enough to tell her this is not a good idea?

Amy does the best accents I've heard period sans her Brooklyn. She has some skills. Especially after hearing the South African accents by What's his name who played Howard Hughes and Renee Zellwanger or whatever her name is butcher the southern accent in that movie she did that I never saw. Dick Van Dyke's cockney in Mary Poppins was pretty piss poor as well.

she should have first learned to not overpluck, then work on the accents.

I call bullshit. This is a visual effect - I've seen a big green giant simper like Marilyn Monroe using this kind of software. You scan the girl's face into the computer then run a film of someone else through it. That doesn't sound very technical, does it? Anyway, look at her mouth in between accents. Something not quite right there.

That Toronto accent was ridiculous. That was 'stereotypical Canadian', the kind that no one actually speaks. eh.

@hughman: Agreed. Daffy Duck did a more realistic southern accent in the 1940s. Thanks Mel Blanc!
