27th January 2008
Hello Natalie Gauci,
Last Friday 25/12/08; I wanted to come to the airport to welcome you to our beautiful island, but time was not possible to find.
Last Night I watched the Malta Song for Europe after many years, mainly as I wanted to watch you and hear your voice echoing on your father’s birth place.
The Songs of the Maltese Singers were great as much for the presentation, lighting and Camera work, Very professionally presented.
What about you? You looked great on my 8feet X 6 feet High Definition Screen. Your talent, poise, relaxation; (I don’t know what was like inside you!) your voice and of course your beauty. You are the product of Maltese Talent and Italian Beauty. The right ingredients!
I understand your father had to leave this island to look for success in a young land far, far away. The 50’s and the 60’s very hard, even the seventies. But if he did not do so we probably could never show our pride in having a Maltese Australian Idol. This makes me proud, as proud to be Maltese and as proud with all those known Maltese both those born here, and abroad.
Malta produced a lot of talent in every sphere. We live on a small piece of rock floating in the Mediterranean Sea, which has one of the oldest histories, so rich and too crowded for such a small island, which today we are proud to say, that from a colony we are a proud Nation (the smallest) in the European Community. Sure that since you arrived here had already noticed and you said it yourself, you already felt at home.
On that stage you looked great and with Ciara you looked marvelous, fantastic singing Angel together. You should record this song, or better the two together.
Since many years, we had Hollywood actors, Joseph Calleia, Opera singers among as Oreste Kirkop (made the film Vagabond King 1956). Soprano Mirian Gauci, Tenor Joseph Callejja who is still young and many others like Ciara, Ira Losco etc and many others in different fields and also many unknown. I’m Proud about all of you here and out there who made Malta proud.
God Bless you all. Keep your head up for a brighter future and more accomplishments.

she may have only debuted at No.2, but look at whats at No.1!

AND she managed to sustain it, and keep her No.2 position, and not just immediately fall off the charts
