Not Appearing At Rooty Hill RSL Any Time Soon: The Beatles, The Doors, Vin Diesel
In news to disappoint fans of cheap beer, no-frills meals and action superstars everywhere, apparently Vin Diesel is not planning on appearing at the Rooty Hill RSL – despite what an Australian promoter might have you believe.
Evidently VIP Entertainment Group announced that the Hollywood no-neck action star would be the guest of honour at the RSL club (though for what reason or event, we’re not entirely sure), and now Diesel’s management (42 West) have come out guns blazing.
Read on while we scratch our heads for a while.
In an email written to Confidential yesterday, the head of 42 West Meredith O’Sullivan claims VIP have misled Diesel’s Australian fanbase by conducting fraudulent booking appearances in the action actor’s name.“Vin does not know or have any affiliation with VIP Entertainment Group or its owners, nor has he ever entered any agreement to appear at, or have knowledge of these events,” O’Sullivan wrote.
“These individuals are not authorized to act on Vin’s behalf in any capacity whatsoever, are falsely representing to be his management, and fraudulently booking appearances in Australia in his name.
“Legal action is being taken on Vins behalf with regard to the people responsible for misleading his fans.”
There’s just so much WTF happening in this story we don’t know where to begin. Why Vin Diesel? Why the Rooty Hill RSL? Whyyy?
If anyone can make head or tails of this, then feel free to enlighten us.
Actually, maybe VIP were just going for some kind of Field Of Dreams-esque “If you announce it, he will come” deal? In that case, we’d like to take this chance to announce that The Rock will be appearing at the Upwey Sea Scouts Hall later this year.

I am ther manager of a Western Australian Night Club and would like to ad that wee have booked a Vin Diesel appearance also and were expecting the star to be in Western Australia this month also.
Still waiting on confirmation of a new date.
Are you sure they didn’t mean Johnny Diesel? He seems a perfect fit for Rooty Hill RSL.
It’s possible that VIP got the band “Diesel” confused with the actor “Vin Diesel”. If you look at the Rooty Hill RSL website the (band) Diesel are playing there in December -

I think I prefer the band anyway ;)
