Spicks And Specks National Tour Bringing Back-Slapping Comedian In-Joking Live To A Theatre Near You!

spicks.jpgIn news that will delight mums nationwide, Adam “Nice” Hills and his streetwise crew will be taking so-light-it’s-weightless light entertainment music trivia show Spicks And Specks on the road.

Host Adam Hills, and panel members Alan Brough and Myf Warhurst will take the show, dubbed the Spicks and Speck-tacular, to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle and Perth from November to January.

The show boasts ramped up versions of some of the program’s most popular games, including a bigger bike for the Malvern Stars On 45 segment and a new take on the Substitute section, where people sing well-known songs with substitute lyrics taken from obscure texts.

However, those details are not the ones that got us particularly excited upon reading this particular announcement…

Instead of special musical guests taking on the challenges, audience members will have the opportunity to take part.

You hear that? Audience participation! Are you not quivering with expectation? Can you WAIT for all those over-28s to emerge from their living rooms and show us all how much they know about Pink Floyd/Jeff Buckley/Radiohead? All we need to know now is that during the show, Hills will giggle at his own hilarity whilst delivering a one-liner and that Brough will frustratingly know more than we do, and we’re THERE!

So, basically it will be RocKwiz? I mean, I love S&S, but the whole thing is totally reminiscent of the RocKwiz shows from during the Comedy Festival and at Moomba.

slagging off the competition? does this signal a rockwiz vs spicks battlerama?

    Rockwiz so loses that battle

Most disappointed that S&S aren’t coming to Hobart. When I saw Adam Hills at the historic Theatre Royal earlier in the year he intimated that S&S would include Hobart. Very, very disappointed Adam!!!

We too are very, very disappointed Hobartians who attended Adam’s show where where he said he would be coming down, down under! Being devoted S&S fans we’re shattered!

Hi there Spicks & Specks, love your show watch it every week. Are you coming to Townsville (or somewhere close).

i went to the spectacular with my wife and felt very RIPPED OFF!!
i just think it was all a bit cheap.
    1. the opening couldnt adam do better than the boring jokes on where are you from theme?
    2. using the audience. i think using the audience in any show is a sure sign that the show is very weak.
    3. No special guests…… instead of boring audience members why not use the shows’ successful format. the guests are the reason i watch the show. it would have been so much better with anh do or akmal or bob down or etc etc… i like myf but she aint a comedian

overall i feel that the theme was cheap, cheap, cheap. do other people agree??

LOL at the people who think this is somehow a Spicks and Specks site. Goes to show the intelligence of the average S&S viewer. It really is the Hey Hey It’s Saturday of its time. For anyone who has ever seen Never Mind The Buzzcocks you would know what a pale imitation of something amazing this whole thing is.
